PADETC is a Lao non-profit organization since 1980 as a community development organization promoting sustainable agriculture, and officially established under the Department of Private Education of the Ministry of Education as an independent Training Center in 1996. The organization uses participatory development training model in helping Lao people solve their own problems in ways that are economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable and Just.
With years of solid development experiences in Laos, PADETC uses its institutional experience to strengthen the skills of Non Profit Associations (NPAs), emerging organizations and other partners. Our work is based on the principles of Education for Sustainable Development — development with a balance between social development, economic development and environmental harmony. Our key work areas are: Education for Sustainable Development, Capacity building for local civil society organizations and Service delivery through learning centers and networks ; and Leadership and advocacy. Target groups (youth, women, minorities, other) PADETC’s works cover building and empowering capacity for Local Civil Society Organization “CSO”, Community Based Organization “CBO”, youths in target provinces such as, Xiengkhouang, Vietiane Capital, Khammuane, Savannakhet and Chapasak. This includes all minorities within Lao and PADETC encourages and supports the gender equality. It is important to note that in accordance to the new long-term strategic planning from 2018 to 2025, PADETC will be self-transforming from Center to a College and to maintaining four key areas of working as one important department of the College.
