Summary:
The SAPSISM project is designed to promote organic products access to sustainable engagement in value chain of market for wellbeing and poverty reduction with three different specific objectives In order to achieve those objectives, numbers of activity intervention are identified with three different approaches—creation of cooperation and connection among stakeholders/actors in relation on value chain of organic products, increasing capacity building of organic farmer group in terms of knowledge and skills, new technology, materials, and network for production improvement as market demands, and creation of consumer and public awareness on organic products/diet for increasing organic products and demand. A result of those things will be benefits for all target communities in Peak District, particularly increasing income generation, quality of life, gender equality and social inclusion. Additionally, knowledge, practice, and lesson learnt related to organic agriculture/agroecology are dissemination through ALiSEA network.
Location: Xiengkhouang Province, Lao PDR.
Duration: 15 months
Activities:
1: The SAPSISM project orientation workshop
2: Conducting stakeholder meeting on value chain to promote the export of organic products to the domestic markets for sustainability.
3: Scale up new farmer group members with registered and certified for organic agriculture certification and selection project participation with existing farmer group.
4: Capacity building of new and existing farmer group members on organic farming/ plantation, seed conservation, and production.
5: Training on organic fertilizer production and traditional fertilizer for insecticide prevention for all project participants/member of farmer groups.
6: Conducting awareness raising on organic products with consumer and public.
7: Organizing and joining organic product exhibition and trade fair.
8: Conducting monitoring and supervision regularly to provide technical support to farmer group
9: Market survey.
10: Operating seed conservation/production for group members.
11: Sharing and exchange lessons on organic products.
