Development value chains toward PGS (Participartory Guarantee System) certification for export market and sustainability of bamboo resource through the Bamboo Service Organisation.
Who set the PGS criteria? Farmers thogether with local authorities had set the critiria with link to policy of the government/ local authorizes/ farmers, but the certification body is the division of the standard (DoA, MAF). Added criteria in PGS of bamboo is the forest management by Forest management by organizing bamboo management unit ( to ensure the sufficient law material support to the production) [HB: 8,9] that set certainly rule among members on what could collect with put in the calendar, this forest mangagenemtn plan is proved by the district. They also set a clear calenda of bamboo collecting to value for all cycle of the forest.
In order to have have a control of the processing and products standars is need to set up the production unit: few families (4-5) collect the bamboo from villagers, and then processing in a very striction of each processing steps which required in technical skill. Village technical training was carried out with trainer for prohect and farmers themseves but DAFO only attendance.

The dry bamboo shoot processing project is quite new project commenced in 2016.. This project has engaged to support the village community income source development by establishing the village production group of value chain of NTFP like dry bamboo shoot processing. The project implementation are facing with the problem of disadvantage on marketing and trading since there is no specific rule and regulation supporting. Resulting in creoss border trade for the VN want to buy complicated of the authorization, aoth imigation, tax , lookin g to how the facilitate (trader have to go to the 5-6 differenct Provincial office) Big contrains is the one window stop iis not function.
Value programe mainly forest bamboo, develop the dificrent types of bamboo value chain. Fresh bamboo for the local, processed bamboo for Chinese and Vienamese traders. But need new technic from VN on the processing part for high quality product,

In order to promote and support the farmer production, the concerned authority shall make or develop the rules or regulations as well national strategy to deal with trading and investment.

In order to solve the problem on disadvantage marketing and trading of farmer production group, the project (GRET)will coordinate and cooperate with the concerned authorities particularly the policy maker level to consider to develop the rule and regulation for facilitating and promoting the production of farmer group.

Besides, the project (GRET) will setup the linkage of the village dry bamboo shoot processing group with the farmer network and also will organize the dialogue workshop between farmers and traders .
