What had been done:

Promoted organic farming and its marketing in Laos by developed varies of booklets [47;48}, manual, brochures [8;10;11], photos slides (we saw in Nontae) on organic standard, principle, and techniques, as well as providing several training on techniques, marketing
Recently, HELVETAS support to the Agriculture College in Luangprabang on' Agri-Preneurs' trough the program called ' Suppot to the Reform of Northern Agriculture and Forestry College (SURAFCO)' in or der to strenghen the skills and motivation of young people who will play a leading role in the development of rural economy [Brochure 9; 2].
HELVETAS is supporting LURAS in the sustainable solution for agriculture of Phase 1 and in Phase 2 on Green Extension (it is on going)

What are difficulties:

Equipement for farming is expensive which difficulty for farmers to invest in.
Access to financial support, up to date farmers still facing with this problem due to the financial support from bank is teill high interest and not match to the production calendar (period of loan always short but the the cycle of each crop in long) and organic farming practices are alway in high risk than other practices due to the pest, raw material for fertilizers, disaster.
