ALiSEA Network in Cambodia conducted the “Information and Proposal Writing Sessions for ALiSEA’s Small Grant Facility 2024” on 30th August 2024. There were 29 attendees in Cambodia, 9 females, from 22 different organizations of ALiSEA members, including civil society organizations, private sector organizations, non-governmental organizations, farmer organizations, academic institutes, research institutions, and international organizations.

This session aimed to provide detailed information about ALiSEA’s small grant to ease the application process for ALiSEA members in Cambodia and enhance the writing skills of ALiSEA’s members.

Information Session

Small Grant Topics and Activities

Q1: Do we need to include all three topics?

A1: That is optional. Applicants only require at least one main topic.

Q2: Can we combine the proposed topic with the current activities?

A2: The aligned activities are motivated but avoid using the activities of other projects to apply.

Expected Outputs

Q1: Does ALiSEA have the template for the case study, or does the organization use its template? If have, is it compulsory to follow the template?

A1: ALiSEA will provide the case study template upon the contract signed. The writer can follow the content guidelines.

Q2: What kind of knowledge products does ALiSEA require? 

A2: The knowledge products can be videos, written reports, or case studies that could deliver the lessons learned or their experiences.

Budget

Q1: What is the currency for being applied in this small grant?

A1: We use the US Dollar due to the policy of DPA in Cambodia.

Q2: Do we have any specific template for knowledge documents?

Q1: Can non-ALiSEA members join the proposal?

A1: Of course, those non-members need to co-apply with one of the ALiSEA members

Q2: Could the international organizations co-apply with non-members of AliSEA?

A2: Could not. The small grant facility 2024 provides to local members of ALiSEA in Cambodia. The member of ALiSEA an international organization and the non-member could join as the co-applicant but cannot lead the application.

Q3: Can an organization apply alone?

A3: Of course, each applicant can apply alone but they have to be ALiSAE members with six months seniority and be a local organization in Cambodia.

Q4: Are we required to put all details of budget activities in the proposal?

A4: No. The proposal just put the main activities by following the template.

Q5: How do we break down the staff mission within the granted project?

A5: Staff mission or travel allowance include in each activity

Q6: Do we need to submit the financial report?

A6: it is optional. It does not affect the scoring process.
