Young farmer field forum has been on 18-21 February 2019, in Keoset, Khoun district, Xiengkhuang province. This event was supported and organized by Helvetas Laos. There were more than 55 participants included government officer from PAFO Xieng Khuang, DAFO in Khoun district, young farmers who work on coffee farming especially young coffee farmers in Xiengkhuang province such as Keoset, from Khoun and Kham districts. Beside that, there are young coffee farmers from Champasak province, Lao farmer network. coffee shops like comma cafe and Meuangchieng coffee and CSO staff.
The objective:
- To provide space and create opportunity for young coffee farmers to exchange knowledge for coffee development among Keoset community and other.
- To share and exchange experience among young coffee farmer on coffee production and their future plan to strengthen collaboration among themselves.
There were many activities included:
- Home stay with coffee farmer family.
- Presentation action research and Exchange knowledge on coffee production and processing from Keoset group.
- Coffee farm study tour.
- Sharing experience from comma coffee shop and Lao farmer network.
- Coffee contest.
- Camping and exchange lesson learnt and life.
- Future plan to improve coffee production and strengthen collaboration among young coffee farmer.
