The Lao Biodiversity Association (LBA), a Non‐Profit‐Association (NPA), founded in 2003 by the initiative of Mr. Houmphanh Rattanavong under the Lao Union of Science and Engineering Association (LUSEA) and registered with Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) in 2011. LBA is comprehensively active in providing technical support to the protection and development of the biodiversity of the ecological system, in dissemination of state’s related policies and implementation of strategies and action plans. LBA, having 33 members of different qualifications and experiences (most members contribute their time and expertise as required), is made up of (1) Management Board Committee, (2) Inspection Committee, (3) Technical Team/Program Management Team. LBA Vision is “Better livelihoods in well-protected biodiversity” and its mission is “Through cooperation and partnership with all stakeholders, we bring about better community-based livelihoods linked with active participatory conservation of biodiversity and natural resources”.
