Sustainable Soil for Life Association (Soil for Life, SS4L, SSLA) is a Cambodian local non-governmental organization that champions the rights and livelihoods of smallholder farmers, youth, women, and marginalized groups.
Originally stemming from the Vivre de sa Terre (VDST), an French NGO, Sustainable Soil for Life has emerged as a leading Cambodian NGO in spearheading the adoption of Agroecology approach to foster positive economic, social, and environmental transformations within local food systems, driving them towards greater resilience, fairness, safety and sustainability.
SSLA started to support farmer communities in 2017. SSLA’s impact-driven and farmer-oriented approach focuses on diversifying cropping systems, improving soil health, enhancing biodiversity, reducing reliance on external inputs, developing sustainable agribusinesses and building local market networks that create value for agroecological produce.
Vision: Sustainable, resilient and fair food system that ensures healthy livelihoods and socioeconomic wellbeing for present and future generations.
Mission: Support vulnerable smallholder farmers, youth, women and groups to improve their livelihoods and living conditions through the promotion of agroecological food systems.
