The Eco-Market is supported by IUCN, implemented by VFI, and aims to support the ecologically-friendly production and sale of local products. Products will include clean agriculture (vegetables, fruits and animal products), forest products, handicrafts, and textiles. No plastic packaging will be allowed during the Eco-Market and farmers have already participated in trainings to create natural packaging.
On Friday, February 5, 2021, there will be official opening and launching ceremony for Eco-Market at VFI’s Green Earth Centre (GEC) in Lao Ngam District, Salavan Province
The ceremony will be held at 13:30 to 16:00 at the GEC on Friday, February 5, 2021, followed by the 1st Eco Market on Saturday, February 6, 2021, from 09:00 to 18:00. The Eco Market will be held each Saturday from the launch day through June of 2021.
