What had been done:

IRAS provided several technical training to the targets farmers on agriculture production technics and management of the resources in communities to be aware on the sustainable use for the villager’s livelihood. Demonstration plot and trials were set to test varies of the plant or animals/aquatics species and methods of producing for adaptation to the climate change at the farm levels.
Approach used in IRAS program is ‘participatory approach’, means villagers participated in the activities identification, action plan, management and maintenance (e.g. community water management).
IRAS developed training manual books on community-based disaster risk management [20], strategy and planning for the climate change and adaption module on vegetable & fruit, land safeguarding, off-farm income generating, agro-forestry, aquatics animals, small livestock [21,22,,23,24,25,26], and produced the series of technical implementation of CCTAM on on water management [27:1-6], vegetable & fruit [28:1-19], agro-forestry [19:1-6], land safeguarding [30:1-7], fish & aquatic animals [31:1-9], off-farm income generating [33:1-15], small livestock raising (in drought and flooded area) [34:1-6], theses books were distributed to DAFO.
The project was carried in Pieng district, Xayabouri province and in Champhone district Savannakhet province.

What are difficulties:

Some specific (e.g. gully dam) design and establishing need the specialist to advise and work with local people because it is not technic that could fit to every area in the country.

What are their ideas to progress:

Agricultural zoning will be better management of the resources in community (e.g. livestock grazing zone, agro-forestry, cash crop), while zoning will help to have better design for the most sufficient used
