Planète Urgence (PU)

Planète Urgence is an international solidarity NGO founded in 2000 and recognized as being of public utility. Its main mission is to protect forests and biodiversity while strengthening the capacities of the men and women living near these ecosystems. Convinced that humans are at the heart of solutions for a sustainable future, Planète Urgence places local communities at the center of its actions. Across the three major forest basins (the Amazon, the Congo Basin, and the Borneo-Mekong area), Planète Urgence implements reforestation and restoration projects, environmental awareness initiatives, and sustainable economic development programs. By closely collaborating with local partners, the NGO helps to structure economic activities based on natural resources and to strengthen local governance, thus ensuring sustainable land management. Currently active in 10 countries, the NGO has a team of about one hundred people dedicated to creating oases of life where humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
