Our Work
We are an open coalition of stakeholders promoting agroecology transition. We envision a future where agroecology is recognized and mainstreamed, catalyzing a transition to healthy, resilient, sustainable, and fair food systems in the Mekong region.
To achieve this goal, our work is structured around 5 key areas:
- Knowledge Management
We aims to answer the need for a knowledge exchange and to share the wealth of experience from different actors of the Mekong sub-region. We encourage our members to document their practices and initiatives, conduct joint studies, and share their results to collectively learn and propose recommendations.
Because we advocate for the important role that knowledge plays in the agroecological transition, all our knowledge productions are open access. Explore them on our Knowledge Hub, as well as other agroecology resources!
- Communication and awareness raising
We focused on improving member engagement, promoting agroecological practices, and increasing its visibility among farmers, consumers, and policymakers. The main communication objectives are to promote members’ work and results ; to scale up adoption of agroecological practices ; and to raise awareness of the general audience about the impacts of the network and agroecology.

- Policy Dialogue
One of our key goals is to foster policy dialogue and mainstream agroecology into national and regional strategies. To achieve this, we consult our members on their agroecology policy dialogue and advocacy strategies through our policy dialogue working group and workshops. We also produce position papers on agroecology, actively participate in policy forums, and engage with national policy dialogue platforms in the region.
- Capacity building
We aim to empower our members in their sustainability journey by developing their technical and soft skills, knowledge, and capabilities across diverse agroecological subjects. To facilitate this, we provide training sessions, field visits, and online webinars.

- Small Grant Facility
We have established a Small Grant Facility to support and boost the implementation of agroecological innovations among our members. Through direct funding provided to farmers’ organizations, local and national CSOs, universities etc., the SGF enables to support and implement concrete initiatives that respond to needs on the ground.
Since 2016, 44 small grants have been awarded! You can discover all the granted projects here.
