The Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Son La province

The Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of Son La Province was established by a decision of the People’s Committee of Son La Province. Operating under the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, it is responsible for advising and assisting the Director in managing cultivation, plant protection, and agricultural food safety.

Its key responsibilities include:

• Guiding and inspecting the implementation of state policies and regulations on crop production.
• Overseeing plant quarantine and pest and disease control.
• Ensuring food safety in crop production.

The Department prioritizes agroecology and organic agriculture, promoting sustainable solutions to enhance productivity, improve product quality, and protect the environment. Additionally, it provides technical support, consulting, and technology transfer to farmers to improve production efficiency. It also collaborates with higher-level state agencies to implement agricultural support policies and programs.
