Village Focus International (VFI)

Village Focus International (VFI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable and marginalized communities in Laos and Cambodia. Established in 2000, VFI works alongside local partners to address critical issues such as land rights, sustainable livelihoods, human trafficking, and the protection of women and children.

Our Vision

A world where all people have the opportunity to lead safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives, free from exploitation and injustice.

Our Mission

To empower local leaders and communities to drive sustainable social change, protect their rights, and improve their livelihoods through education, advocacy, and direct support.

Our Core Programmatic Areas

1. Land and Livelihoods

VFI is committed to securing land rights, promoting sustainable natural resource management, and enhancing livelihood opportunities for rural communities. By advocating for land tenure security and providing training in sustainable agriculture, VFI helps ensure long-term resilience and food security for vulnerable families.

2. Protection and Empowerment for Women and Children (PEWC)

This program focuses on preventing human trafficking, illegal migration for labor, and gender-based violence. Key initiatives include:

  • Survivor Support & Shelter Services – Providing safe housing, counseling, and reintegration support for survivors.
  • Education & Awareness – Conducting outreach programs on trafficking prevention, labor rights, and youth leadership.
  • Legal & Advocacy Support – Working with authorities to strengthen policies protecting at-risk women and children.
Our Approach

At VFI, we believe in investing in local leadership. Our team is made up of highly trained and motivated Lao staff who deeply understand the needs of their communities. By fostering local ownership and sustainable solutions, we ensure long-lasting impact.
