Sustainable Agriculture and Environment Development Association (SAEDA)
Sustainable Agriculture & Environment Development Association – SAEDA, formerly known as the Sustainable Agriculture Forum (SAF), was established in March 1991 under the umbrella of its members and CUSO. In 2007, it officially became a non-profit civil society organization in Lao PDR. SAEDA is dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities through sustainable development, focusing on four core intervention programs:
- Sustainable Agriculture (SA)
- Environmental Conservation (EC)
- Food Safety (FS)
- Farmer Organizations (FOs)
Additionally, SAEDA operates two support programs:
- Fundraising & Marketing (FRM)
- Information, Research & Advocacy (IRA)
Vision
We envision a future where Lao communities achieve sustainable livelihoods with improved food and nutrition security, grounded in environmentally sound agricultural practices.
Mission
Our mission is to promote sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation through capacity development and income generation. Using participatory approaches, we empower vulnerable communities—including farmers, women, children, youth, and ethnic groups—to build resilience and improve their quality of life.
