Association for Sustainable Development, Healthy Community, Reduction disaster risk and End Poverty (SHARE)

The SHARE Association was established on May 10, 2025, by bringing together the solidarity of Caritas Luxembourg staff in the Lao PDR, which was closed at the end of 2024, and members of the development network who are volunteers and dedicated to rural development and sustainable environmental conservation. The association was approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs No. 354/MoHA dated June 5, 2025, and the association registration certificate No. 97/DDGM dated June 10, 2025. In order to contribute to the building and development of the nation, especially to contribute to the implementation of the national economic and social development plan and the sustainable development vision according to the government’s green direction from now to 2030.

The SHARE Association (SSA) has defined the association’s goal: to strengthen rural, remote, poor, and disadvantaged communities in the Lao PDR in line with the government’s sustainable development goals (SDG) from now to 2030 by promoting community small infrastructure improvement, sustainable rural development, nutrition, hygiene and clean water, and disaster risk reduction and management and community small infrastructure improvement.

For the vision and 5-year strategic plan 2026-2030 to support the implementation of sustainable development projects in remote, poor, and disadvantaged rural communities in the Lao PDR, as well as to contribute to the work of eradicating poverty in the areas where the association supports the implementation of the project. SHARE’s Vision Association for Sustainable Development, Healthy Community, Reduction of Disaster Risk, and Ending Poverty “SHARE” aspires to support the poorest rural communities in Lao PDR in engaging in sustainable development, attaining abundance of food, good nutrition, a rich environment, gender equality, and strong community management that can address and respond to potential disaster risk issues and access to basic education and health services.

SHARE’s Mission

  1. Establishing and strengthening an association with a transparent management system that is standardized and acceptable to donors and society.
  2. Mobilize and find sources of funds to carry out the following program effectively in the target districts and provinces of the association according to the government’s national socio-economic development plan and sustainable development goals: (1) Community Strengthening Livelihoods System Programme; (2) Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Programme; (3) Health Promotion Programme; (4) Environmental Conservation and Tourism Development Programme; (5) Anti-trafficking, cross-border, and the promotion of women’s and children’s rights Programme
  3. Establish a network to share knowledge and provide services to society and public or private organizations based on capabilities and experience.
  4. Expand and build up capacity and human resources (members) of the association and counterparts continuously in various forms according to globalization.

SHARE’s 5-Year Strategic Plan Strategic

  1. Establish an association in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Lao PDR.
  2. Mobilize and find sources of funds to carry out various programs in accordance with the objectives of the association, the socio-economic development plan, and the government’s sustainable development goals.
  3. Implement programs in the target areas of the association effectively: (1) Strengthen the community livelihood system; (2) Reduce and manage disaster risk; (3) Health promotion and nutrition; (4) Preserve the environment and develop tourist attractions, climate change 5. Combat human trafficking and cross-border labor and promote women’s and children’s rights.
  4. Establish a network to share knowledge and provide services to society and organizations, both public and private, based on knowledge, ability, and experience.
  5. Expand and build up the organization in various forms.
