Development and Support to Local Knowledge Association (COSKA)

COSKA was established in 2O13 by Lao founders involved in development projects for decades, whose motivation is to find funding sources for community development across Lao PDR under the acronym of SLKA. After the first grant, the organizational structure was determined by the participation of the board committee and members. Since then, the association expands its contribution activities to help improve the livelihood of local communities. In early December 2021, the association was officially approved by and registered with Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) under the name as Cooperation for Development and Support to Local Knowledge Association (COSKA). COSKA has been operating in the northern provinces in particular Phongsaly and Oudomxay where huge poverty exists with different ethnic and vulnerable groups. The focus is on rural and livelihood development, agriculture, value chain, education, climate change, natural resources management, gender and community capacity building etc. So far COSKA is part of and getting funding from the CCL, the French Embassy, AFD, and others.
