The Forests and Livelihood Organization (FLO) is a non-profit registered local organization, established in Kratie Province, and legally registered at the Ministry of Interior, Cambodia on 8 th December 2010. FLO was established by a group of local people with strong experience in community engagement, and forest and land management. They intended to assist local communities and indigenous people advocating for and attaining their legal rights and tenures over their natural resources, and practicing sustainable management methods to secure their livelihoods. In partnership with the government and civil society, FLO has been dedicatedly supporting and empowering the local communities and ethnic minorities in the northeastern provinces of Cambodia – Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri. Our Vision: Local communities in northeastern Cambodia enjoy ownership rights over their natural resources and exercise these rights for dignified sustainable livelihoods. Our mission: FLO helps the local communities to practice sustainable natural resource management and improve their livelihoods through wise socio-economic development. FLO supports the communities in strengthening their advocacy capacities for the recognition of their tenure over their natural resources.
