Lao Development of Human Resources in the Rural Areas Association (LaoDHRRA)

Vision:
A future where self-reliant Lao farmers, including men, women, and youth, are empowered with knowledge, skills, and resources to improve their living conditions, achieve sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to resilient rural communities.

Mission:
LaoDHRRA is dedicated to supporting and strengthening key stakeholders—farmers, fishers, cooperatives, civil society organizations, and government partners—who work collaboratively to enhance the well-being of Lao farmers. Through capacity building, advocacy, and knowledge sharing, LaoDHRRA aims to create an enabling environment where rural communities thrive, ensuring food security, economic resilience, and sustainable development.

Goals & Strategic Priorities:

1. Empowered Farmer and Fisher Organizations

   • Strengthen farmer and fisher groups by enhancing leadership, technical skills, and business capacities.
   • Promote active participation and leadership of women and youth in decision-making processes.
   • Support inclusive value chain development to improve market access and economic opportunities.

2. Strong Policy Environment Supporting Rural Transformation and Development

   • Advocate for policies that promote sustainable agriculture, land tenure security, and rural development.
   • Strengthen multi-stakeholder dialogue between farmers, government agencies, and development partners.
   • Conduct research and policy analysis to inform evidence-based decision-making.

3. Network Development and Management

   • Enhance collaboration among farmer organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, and policymakers.
   • Facilitate knowledge exchange, training programs, and best practices in agroecology, climate resilience, and rural enterprise development.
   • Strengthen LaoDHRRA’s institutional capacity to better serve its members and partners.
