The Northwest Development Cooperation Center (TABA)
The Northwest Cooperation and Development Center (TABA) is a Vietnamese science and technology organization established under Decision No. 85/QD-LHH Hoa Binh and licensed by the Hoa Binh Provincial Department of Science and Technology since 2012. Over the past decade, TABA has positioned itself as a leading organization in Northwest Vietnam working at the intersection of agroecology, women’s economic empowerment, and territorial development.
Rooted in the mountainous regions of Northwest Vietnam, TABA recognizes and builds upon the cultural heritage, indigenous knowledge, and agricultural practices of ethnic minority communities. The organization has accompanied more than 10,000 ethnic minority women in developing sustainable livelihoods grounded in local resources and community-based production systems. TABA combines traditional knowledge with modern facilitation approaches, strengthening local capacities while promoting inclusive and sustainable food systems.
Beyond project implementation, TABA increasingly acts as a facilitator of multi-actor territorial food system platforms. It connects farmers, cooperatives, private sector actors, technical agencies, and policy stakeholders, contributing to agroecological transition processes and supporting the implementation of national agricultural and gender equality policies in Vietnam.
