Summary:

This project will take place in Ham Yen district, Tuyen Quang, a northern Vietnamese mountainous province, that has a diverse climate and landscape conducive to various vegetables. The project targets to boost the Tuyen Quang vegetable market by addressing challenges like unstable markets, pests and diseases, and by empowering smallholder farmers, including women, through value chain integration. A market analysis will be conducted to understand the production, consumption, and commercialization of Tuyen Quang vegetables. The project will assess the willingness of market actors to source Tuyen Quang vegetables and the value distribution in the value chain. Farmers will be assisted in adopting regenerative farming practices to lower production costs while ensuring sustainability. Inclusive business relations between market actors and farmers will enable to increase in the accessibility and profitability of Tuyen Quang vegetables.
