ALiSEA is a multi-stakeholder alliance of universities, NGOs, enterprises, and farmer organizations advancing knowledge sharing on agroecology through member-driven thematic exchanges. Under the ASSET initiative, ALiSEA hosts annual online thematic webinars across the region to connect practice and policy communities.
This second 2025 webinar, “Food Safety: From Production to Consumption,” is part of our regional effort to promote safe, sustainable, and inclusive agrifood systems. The session offers a platform to share field experiences, tools, and initiatives that strengthen food safety and promote safer pest management along the value chain—from farm production to household consumption.
Objectives
- Build a holistic understanding of food safety from farm to fork, linking agriculture, pest management, processing, and consumer health.
- Share evidence-based, innovative approaches that reduce risks from chemicals, contamination, and unsafe pest management.
- Identify key challenges and locally appropriate solutions for farmers and stakeholders.
- Foster peer learning and regional collaboration on food safety initiatives.
- Explore scaling pathways and policy integration at national and regional levels.
