ALiSEA Knowledge Management Coordinator for Vietnam

Closing on: Jul 15, 2026

Background

The Agroecology Learning alliance in South East Asia (ALiSEA, https://ali-sea.org), is an open coalition of stakeholders promoting agroecology transitions. Initiated in 2015, it aims to enable local and regional agroecology stakeholders to leverage one another’s expertise to produce evidence-based studies and share them broadly to support a regional transition towards agroecology. It has 3 folded objectives: (1) Strengthening knowledge and experience sharing among agroecological initiatives and actors, (2) Increasing visibility and credibility of agroecological movement towards policy makers and consumers and (3) Scaling up the development and adoption of agroecological practice among farmers.

ALiSEA Network gathers to date over 200 member organizations from different backgrounds and approaches to Agroecology. It is quite unique by its diversity of stakeholders (53% CSOs and NGOs, 9% Farmer organizations, 19% Research & Academia, 15% Private Sectors, 3% Government organizations, 1% Networks) and its governance model based on member-driven network. ALiSEA currently counts five countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. ALiSEA is coordinated at national by the executive team and regional level by GRET.

The ALiSEA network aims to continue its efforts of structuration and consolidation of its governance and sustainability as a key step towards achieving autonomy. The ALiSEA governance relies on an adaptive management approach, with flexibility to test innovative mechanisms, adjust and improve the governance arrangement through proofs of concept to integrate members’ suggestions and ensure local ownership.

National Executive Team

Following the decision taken at the Regional General Assembly held in March 2024 in Lao PDR, the National Executive Team consists of three (3) people from member organizations as listed below:

  • National Secretary
  • Knowledge Management Coordinator
  • Policy Dialogue Coordinator

The Executive Team is in charge of developing national strategy and action plan of the network as well as to monitor main achievements. They should lead to the representation of different categories of stakeholders in order to remain an open interface between actors federated around the promotion and scaling up of agroecology. The 3 members of the Executive Team work together to implement the network’s activities.

Main Responsibilities

The ALiSEA Network recognizes KM as a key function to support learning, collaboration, and agroecology transition across the region. It helps connect and share knowledge and experiences among members. At the same time, it transforms field experiences into credible evidence to strengthen the visibility and credibility of agroecology, support policy dialogue, and facilitate the scaling up of agroecological practices. The Knowledge Hub serves as a key platform to support these KM objectives.

The Knowledge Management Coordinator is responsible for implementing ALiSEA’s KM strategy by facilitating knowledge sharing and learning among members, and by supporting the documentation, production, and dissemination of knowledge products and evidence on agroecology. The position contributes to strengthening collective learning across the network, enhancing the visibility of members’ experiences and innovations, and supporting the development and operation of the ALiSEA Knowledge Hub.
