Thematic Webinar on Knowledge Products, Real Experiences sharing
On June 26, 2026, the Agroecology Learning Alliance in Southeast Asia (ALiSEA) in Laos brought together 28 network members and non-members for an online knowledge-sharing event held in Lao. The session, “Real Experiences, Real Impact in Knowledge Products Development Process,” introduced participants to the newly launched ALiSEA Knowledge Hub—a response to a challenge many organizations know well: valuable field experiences and learning materials that are scattered across different places, making them hard for others to find and use.
Organizations and individuals across the network regularly produce strong materials and gather rich field experience, but without a shared home for these resources, they often stay buried on individual computers or hard to search for online. To close this gap, ALiSEA introduced the Knowledge Hub, a central online library where members can search for, open, and download agroecology materials in one place. Ms. Soutima Paka, ALiSEA National Secretary, walked participants through the platform live—how to browse topics, navigate sections, and download documents—before explaining the step-by-step process for submitting materials for publication and how members can share their own profiles through ALiSEA Expert so others can find and learn from their experience.
The event’s highlight was a discussion panel with representatives of two member organizations that have already published learning materials through ALiSEA. Mr. Xorthor of PDDA emphasized that careful planning starts a knowledge product off right: choosing a clear topic and fully understanding the knowledge product template before data collection begins, paired with high-quality images that shape how professional the final product looks. Mrs. Xaysomphone of RDA shared a practical lesson for teams collecting data in remote areas: dividing tasks clearly and assigning a responsible person to each stage reduces duplication and confusion while making each team member more accountable, leading to more efficient, higher-quality results.
The session made clear that ALiSEA’s Knowledge Hub is only as valuable as the materials and experiences its members contribute to it. Members are encouraged to explore the Hub, submit their own field materials and learning products, and add their profile to ALiSEA Expert so their knowledge can reach and benefit others across the network.
