ALiSEA Vietnam Webinar #1 – 2026: Access for Agroecological Products: Domestic and Export Perspectives
Background
In the context of Vietnam facing multiple challenges such as climate change, resource degradation, and food safety concerns, the need to transition toward sustainable agricultural models is becoming increasingly urgent. Agroecology is being promoted as a holistic approach that not only improves production practices but also aims to restructure food systems toward greater sustainability, transparency, and equity.
However, a wider dissemination of agroecological concepts is required to ensure the scaling up of practices and transitions. In addition, the lack of effective linkages among actors along the value chain—from production to distribution and consumption—remains a major barrier to the development and scaling up of these models.
The 2025 training needs assessment of ALiSEA Vietnam members identified market access for agroecological products as a top priority topic. Based on this, the Thematic Working Group on Local Food Systems and Agroecology, under the coordination of ALiSEA board members and in collaboration with expert groups, has initiated a series of in-depth events to address this need.
Within this framework, Webinar #1 in 2026, entitled “Market Access for Agroecological Products: Domestic and Export Perspectives,” is organized as an open exchange platform, bringing together diverse perspectives from production practices, domestic markets, and international markets.
